She didn't speak much English, and we not much Italian, but she gave us a patient good humored map walk through, complete with bus numbers and routes and tips (like go here and walk down the Spanish Steps, not here and walk up). I'm visiting from NYC so that tends to mean around $20/pp for 2 hours plus whatever drinks you order on top of that, not sure what's standard for LA.Our stay at Casa Caterina Volpicelli was excellent! The Sister in charge of hospitality made us feel like one of the family, even greeting us whenever we returned from our outings. Type of cuisine for dinner doesn't really matter but my ideal "criteria" for a restaurant is as follows:īudget under $70/pp would be great (pre-fixe menu would be awesome)įor karaoke, private room + drinks at a reasonable price. I guess we could just suck it up, but thought I'd ask if anyone has alternative suggestions for the DTLA and Little Tokyo areas. KTown seems like the obvious answer, but that seems a little bit far for Monterey Park (I think it ends up being like a 45 min car ride?). My main objective is to make it relatively easy and quick to get from Point A (dinner) to Point B (karaoke) and then home (Monterey Park). Hello!
